State Tournaments

MiSTFA runs a number of state-ranked tournaments throughout the season. These are open to anyone but only Michigan-based players get state rankings:

State Championship

Played in the final month of the season, on the final Saturday of the month.

State Cup

Played between April and July, on a one-game elimination basis, similar to the FA Cup in England.

Held monthly or near-monthly in the city of Holland.

State championships and some other tournaments will include categories for all the FISTF categories where at least 3 players are present.

The categories (with their 2007/08 qualifying dates) are:

• M = Mini / Under 12 (born in or after 1996)
• J = Junior / Under 15 (born in or after 1993)
• Y = Youth / Under 19 (born in or after 1989)
• V = Veterans (born before Sep.1st 1968)
• L = Ladies
• Open
