Regional Leagues

As of 2006 there is a change to the way Regional Leagues will be set up. MiSTFA Regional Leagues will be considered 'pro' leagues, requiring some kind of investment such as purchase of own equipment.

Each player must host an equal number of "home" games against everyone else in their league. Geographically split conference systems may be used. Clubs must own their own pitch, goals, balls, teams and game timer. One team may be "guest" at another venue in a groundsharing agreement. Other groundsharing allowed is when team managers are in the same household, here there is no limit.

Leagues should be held as "Open" until the number of competitors available in one category reaches a minimum of 5. Players may compete in multiple categories. The qualifying dates for 2005/06 are:

  • Under 12 (born on or after Sep.1st 1993)
  • Under 15 (born on or after Sep.1st 1990)
  • Under 19 (born on or after Sep.1st 1986)
  • Veteran (born before Sep.1st 1966)
  • Ladies
  • Open

Only one Regional League in each category may be set up in any one region.
