League System

Two sessions will be played during the season. The "Openen" runs from January to March. The "Sluiten" (pronounced sly-ten) runs from April to June. These two names are the Dutch version of the terms used in Latin American soccer, where Apertura and Clausura are often two distinct seasons. Each section will see teams meet each other four times.

The top four in the Openen and Sluiten combined standings will play off for the seasonal HSL championship.
