Pitch

Equipment

There are a number of options for obtaining a premium quality pitch for your table soccer needs.

  • Astropitch
  • Woodentop
  • Swiss T
Astropitch

The Astropitch is the original quality pitch. It is made of felt on a thin rubber sheet which can be rolled up after use. It is, however, subject to warping especially if left in the heat of a car on a summer's day! So be careful with it and it will provide you with years of use. Rather expensive for beginners but with the bonus of portability. Available from >> World Table Soccer at around $80 plus shipping.

Woodentop

There are two different sizes of standard Woodentop pitches: Prima and Liga. The Prima pitch is just about identical to the Astropitch in size, at 1350mm x 900mm (53" x 35.5"). The Liga is a tad shorter at 1200mm x 900mm (47.25" x 35.5"). Experienced players often complain at the lack of room on a Liga pitch. MiSTFA recommends the longer Prima.

Both these pitches are a similar felt surface on a thinner "sticky back plastic" sheet, rather like the stuff people used to line kitchen shelves with. These are ideal for sticking on a sheet of MDF for a permanent playing surface, and are cheaper than the Astropitch at around $45 for the Prima, $40 for the Liga. They are not intended as a roll-up solution. Available from >> Table Soccer.net, prices exclusive of shipping.
